In preparation for this site here are some photographs of the violinist.
On the 5th January, 1944 Péter gave the first performance in Hungary of Bartók's second violin concerto. Bartók had already left Hungary for the United States
and left the score with the eminent musicologist Bence Szabolcsi. Péter performed the work with the Székesfövarosi Orchestra, conducted by János Ferencsik.
This photo of Péter bears the seal of the Hungarian Telephone News and Radio Corporation -
possibly used as an official pass to enter the building when making recordings.
